Calling one and all ladies…. Who doesn’t love a fresh, shiny manicure??! For years I have spent countless dollars on going to the salon and having my nails done, well I can now kiss goodbye to that because Gelish have released a fabulous new product which enables us to do our own shellac manicures at home!
Now come on, I know what you are thinking, oh that sounds like far too much work but trust me it is easy as!! It took me about an hour to complete but that was my first time so was a little slow and I’m sure over time it will be a lot quicker.
Initially you will need to purchase all the products to get you started and then just buy top ups after that. The cheapest and easiest way to do it is buy the basics kit and light.
The Gelish Mini Basix Kit is available from Hairhouse Warehouse for $39.95 but I’m sure you can also get it from other retailers or on ebay. It has everything in it you need to get started and comes with full instructions. So even if you are not good at DYI mani’s you will be a pro by the end of this.
I have the Gelish Mini Hand Held Light which sells at Hairhouse Warehouse for $29.95 but you can also purchase the Gelish Mini Pro LED Curing Light for $59.95 (the good thing about that light is is allows you to do pedicures as well.
Step 1: Start by prepping the nails, remove any old polish, shape and buff them.
Step 2: Apply the Nail Cleanse to a wipe and run over each nail
Step 3: Apply PH Bond to nails
Step 4: Apply Foundation to nails and place under light
Step 5: Apply colour polish of your choice to nails and place under light
Step 6: Repeat step 5
Step 7: Apply Top It Off to nails and place under light
Note- Nails will appear a little sticky at this point, don’t worry that will change after the next step
Step 8: Place some Nail Cleanse on a wipe and run over each nail. Sticky feeling should now have gone
Step 9: Apply Nourish to cuticles
Colour I have used here is Tiki Tiki Laranga
There are SO many gorgeous colours to choose from that is the hard part….oh what the hell splurge and buy several colours 😉
Also try and not go too close to the cuticles with the polish as when it dries it can lift if too thick and close to the edges.
When applying the polish be sure to do it THINLY as if too thick when it dries it won’t look as good.
The polish remover comes in the starter kit so once you are ready to re do your manicure you can just soak off the old polish and start again with a brand new colour.
I would definitely recommend this product to all you gorgeous ladies out there because we all now a manicure completes any outfit and makes you feel a million dollars!
