Pregnancy is a wonderful thing and the changing shape of a pregnant woman is beautiful. That said, sometimes your rapidly growing tummy can leave the expecting mother a little insecure when trying to fit into clothing they would normally wear. This is even more prevalent at the beach when we’re talking about revealing and tight fitting swimwear.
Well, worry no more ladies! There are plenty of options for you to feel comfortable and look great by the sea. You’ll not only be glowing, but turning heads too!
Maternity One-piece is specifically made for the baby bump and growing woman. The material stretches as your bump grows and adjustable straps and built in shelf bras will keep your breasts in place as you swim around. The best thing about these one pieces is that they are easy to find, last throughout your entire pregnancy and look great.
If you find a one piece too conservative, you may prefer to stick with a bikini. This will not only show off your bump, which a lot of you will be very proud of, it will emphasise your great legs too! It’s best to get a bikini with good upper support and adjustable straps to fit and manage your growing boobs. And if you have adjustable ties at the side you can loosen them as you grow as well
A tankini is a great compromise between a one piece and a bikini. Instead of showing off your tummy, the tankini comes with a stylish, stretchy vest top which you can cover yourself with. That said, it is not as restricting as a one-piece and you can always lift it up over your tummy if you wish to get a bit of a tummy tan. Tankini’s are a great idea for the pregnant woman as you can mix and match the tops and bottom and you can update individually if you start to outgrow either piece.
Coverups are one of the greatest ways to feel both comfortable and fashionable while strutting yourself and baby bump around. Kaftans coverups are definitely the IN item this summer so baby bump or not, you’re going to look great. Not only is there a diverse range of colours and patterns, they are so comfortable and flowing you won’t feel like you’re wearing anything at all. A great plus for the kaftan is the over the shoulder sleeves. They’re great to avoid sunburn yet keep the sexy look alive and cover that bump if you’re feeling a little uneasy.
See-through Cover Ups
If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, see-through cover-ups are a great way to show off your bump, but not expose everything. They make you feel like you are wearing clothing yet your cute tummy is still exposed. They look great thrown over a bikini, they’re sexy, beachy, and a cool and breezy alternative to a floppy old t-shirt!
